Grades 3-4 Program

Workshop: Stop Motion

In this hands-on stop-motion animation activity, participants will start with a range of colorful and expressive 2D shapes and puppets and accompanying backgrounds that we will provide. Then using iPads and Stop Motion Studio, pairs of Third and Fourth Graders will explore movement, timing, and visual storytelling as they construct their own short movies, frame by frame. The focus is on playful experimentation, collaboration, and discovering how small changes can create the illusion of movement. Bring your curiosity and imaginations!

Workshop Leaders: Mina, Leat, and Judith

Workshop: Coding

It’s been snowing like crazy—so let’s turn that winter fun into coding magic! You’ll look at real snowflakes, discover their cool patterns, and then code the Finch Robot to draw your very own one-of-a-kind snowflake using coding loops in FinchBlox. Work with friends, get creative, and build a whole winter wonderland while learning to code!

Workshop Leaders: Marianna and MJ
